Obituary of Beverley Pearce

Please share a memory of Beverley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Beverley Pearce at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the age of 81. Bev was the matriarch of our family. Born April 15, 1939 to the late Catherine and Wesley Hager. Much-loved wife of the late William Pearce and the much-loved common law partner of the late Roger Chasles. Proud mother of Stephen, late Glen (Roseanne), Cheryl (Mark), and William and proud stepmother of Roger’s children Cindy, Todd, Roger Junior and Tammy. Her legacy will live on through her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted sister of Elaine and Robin. Auntie Bev will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, especially Stacy and Brent. She is also missed by her beloved dog, Laura, who was always by her side. Bev lived life by her own terms. She carried a resilient, strong willed spirit and an unwavering belief in God that helped her overcome challenges. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, finding much humour and beauty everywhere. She loved Anne of Green Gables, music, wildflowers, animals, knitting, and much to the chagrin of her family-- collecting trinkets, lots and lots of trinkets! She was well known for her trips to Value Village and her resourcefulness in fixing things that most people would throw away. She was friendly and conversational making friends of strangers in minutes. Bev was generous and cared about children around the word, contributing to charities, like Operation Smile and World Vision. Bev’s humour and approach to life is captured well by her handmade sign at her front door, “Never mind the dog, beware of the owner.” Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced when COVID-19 physical distancing measures are lifted. Special thanks to Doctor Bowen and the nursing staff at the Sault Area Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Health Foundation, Operation Smile or World Vision would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758). “It's been my experience that you can nearly always enjoy things if you make up your mind firmly that you will.” -- Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
