Obituary of Katherine Hartman

Please share a memory of Katherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
1934-2012 - God needed an angel, so he called upon our Mother, Katherine, to join him on Saturday, February 18th, 2012, after a short and overwhelmingly courageous battle with cancer. Katherine was the wife of the late Clifford Hartman of Dunville, Ontario and the late Albert Tarantini. Katherine was the deeply loved mother, role model and best friend of Jo-Anne Cytra, Carey Thompson (Mark Pettalia), Rob Tarantini (Shirley Boldt) and the late Corey Tarantini. Sister of the late Dorothy "Paddy" Hawn (late Ray), the late Alex Wood, Walter "Waddy" Wood, Joseph Wood (Margaret), the late Margaret "Peggy" (late Alex Szucs) and Brenda Davis. Special mom of Kimberly Grazulis (Herb Taylor) and countless others whose lives she touched along the way. Grandma will be missed by Todd Cytra, Andrew Cytra (Cristina), Greg Tarantini, Cheryle Tarantini, Derek Thompson and Erin Thompson; and by her great-grandchildren Taryn Ann, Calvin, Owen, Trysten and Darion. Auntie Mickey will be missed by several nieces, nephews and by many friends. She was a champion of the underdog, a proud member of the Legion Branch 025, an artist, a cook and a beautiful woman who saw the best in everyone and inspired us to live up to it. For those who knew Mickey, you would know that she wanted no fuss, no service, no flowers. Instead she asks that you "PAY IT FORWARD". Do something special for someone less privileged, or send a donation to the Wild at Heart Wildlife Refuge Centre or to Algoma Residential Community Hospice.
