Obituary of Domenic Bortolussi

BORTOLUSSI, Domenic (Menetti) - April 5, 1927 Giai, Province of Friuli - Venezia - Giulia, Italy - April 16, 2012 Sault Ste. Marie, Canada. With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Domenic Bortolussi, at the age of 85, at Sault Area Hospital, surrounded by his family. Domenic is survived by his beloved wife Iride (Zucchiatti), of 62 years; devoted father of Peter Bortolussi (Christina Brescacin), Roy Bortolussi (Cheryl Reynolds), Lorraine Bortolussi (Carlo Di Gioacchino) and Dr. Mark Bortolussi (Jennifer Caplis); cherished Nonno of eight grandchildren Stefan Bortolussi (Rena Pittao), Dr. Matthew Bortolussi (Dr. Rebecca Slupski), Adam Bortolussi, Kathryn Bortolussi, Andrea Bortolussi, Jennifer Bortolussi, Martina Di Gioacchino and Vanessa Di Gioacchino; loving Bis-Nonno of four great grandchildren Elia and Dante (Stefan & Rena), Michael and Mila (Matthew & Rebecca); son of the late Ermenegildo Bortolussi and the late Pierina Martin of Italy; dear brother of the late Lindo (late Irma Montic) of France, Solidea (late Giuseppe Segatto) of Italy, the late Luigi (late Rosanna Bon), Maria (late Romeo Morassut), Graziosa (late Nino Vianello) of Italy, Elide (Franco Dal Ben) of Italy, Iside (late Carlo Di Monte) of Italy; fond Zio of many nieces and nephews. Respecting Domenic's wishes, visitation and inurnment will be private. Friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Gregory's Parish, 71 Estelle Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Trevor Scarfone, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Gregory's Parish to fund church renovations would be appreciated. A special thank you for all the compassionate care Domenic received from the physicians, nurses and caregivers at Sault Area Hospital.
