Peacefully at home on February 18th, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Alan was 74 years old. Beloved husband of Ghislaine (Lynn) for 49 years. Loving, caring and dedicated father to Marc (Patti) and Kelly. Cherished grandfather (Poppa) of Devin and Cassie. Best buddy to his dog Bear and grand-dog Logan. Dear son of the late Russell and Lou Williamson of Espanola. Brother to Ivan (Joyce) of London and sister Linda Golden (Darwin) of Espanola. Special Brother-in-Law to Charlotte and Garnet Martin. Much admired Brother-in-Law to Claire and Dan Lafrenière. Loved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Alan was a caring and compassionate person who gave of himself through his volunteer work, most recently through his supporting the Zion Church and its' involvement with monthly Vincent Place dinners. Alan wished to especially thank his friends Aimé Beland and Ray Slumskie for their friendship, support and help. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 11 am until time of memorial service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend a reception at Grand Gardens North (former Riuniti Hall) at 3 p.m. Alan and family request that any donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Vincent Place or The Humane Society. Special thanks to all those who played a role in supporting Alan's brief battle with cancer.
