Obituary of Antonio Barone

Passed away peacefully at the Ontario Finnish Resthome at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Lilla. Loving father of Frank (Kari), Italo (Mirella) and Massimo (Judy). Cherished grandfather of Anthony and Francesco, Karlea and Davis. Dear brother of the late Italo, Giovannina (late Tony), Maria (Frank), Lillina (late Benio), Settimio (Rosetta) and Favorito (Saletta). Antonio will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Antonio was born to the late Finuzza and Francesco Barone in Lago, Italy. Antonio migrated to Canada in 1960 and married in the same year. Some of Antonio's favourite activities included playing Scopa, Briscola, and Tressette with the boys on Saturday night; tending to his garden, paying special attention to his beloved pepper and tomato plants; and swimming and soaking in the scorching Italian sun at any one of Calabria's pristine beaches. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. with Father Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Ontario Finnish Resthome would be appreciated by the family.
