DeLuco, Diana Lynn - Peacefully at home on March 3, 2011 at the age of 51, after a four year struggle with ovarian cancer. Cherished wife and best friend of David Crookston, beloved daughter of Rose and the late Ted DeLuco, treasured sister of Rick (Anne), devoted aunt of Kristen and Daniel, adored Godmother of Nina Lynn Payandeh (Warren Duguay), and much loved cousin of Denise Santana (Jim Thomson). She will be greatly missed by her uncle Val Suriano (Jean), aunt Rena, uncle Tony Gareau (late Jo), brother-in-law Ian Crookston (Elizabeth), nephews Owen and Daniel Crookston, cousins, and dear friends, especially those in her book club, GoodLife, and wine tasting group. Her gifted hands made works of art for her dental patients, as well as beautiful stained glass windows. In early retirement, she became a certified instructor in fitness and pilates, tap dancer, belly dancer, and an accomplished golfer and tennis player. She achieved excellence in everything she did. She was loving and generous to her family and friends, and lit up the lives of all who knew her. A memorial service is planned at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) at 7 pm on Wednesday March 9, 2011, time with the family and refreshments to follow. Those who wish to speak about Diana at the service will be given a brief opportunity to do so. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society or to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Drs. Pat Zehr, Silvana Spadafora, David Walde, Sharon Buehner, and John Robertson, the nurses and staff of the oncology unit and clinic, the staff of the Northeast CCAC, and the nurses of Comcare. www.northwoodfuneral.com
