Please share a memory of Iolanda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Though it is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, we are incredibly comforted knowing that she has been reunited with the love of her life. Iolanda passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Rodolfo (February 2020). Iolanda was born on November 4, 1932 in Cosenza, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Maria Grazia De Marco. She is the daughter-in-law of the late Michele and Rosina Belsito. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her children Rosetta Pirozzi (Anthony), Loredana Belsito (late Frank), Michelina Sardo (late Joe), (Nicola), Michele Belsito (Cheryll), Maria Cathy Calvert (Don), Francesca Mendicino (Tony), and Irena Belsito (Nick Sardo). Sister-in-law of the late Lina Salerno (the late Franco), and Irena Spatafora Osting (Richard). We were blessed to have a mother who constantly extended herself to care for all of us and guide us through not only the troubles of life, but also the joyous occasions. Our mother was a role model and cornerstone for this family. Moving to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario with the love of her life, Rodolfo, in 1973, our mother devoted her life to working hard and providing for her family. Her welcoming heart, and empowering attitude has taught us that with unconditional love there is no obstacle that cannot be overcome. We always knew we could count on you not only for your mentorship but also the best homecooked food. You never held us back – you were an honest Saint, and we can’t wait to see you again to hug and kiss you. A private family service will be held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ron Ambeault officiating.
