Obituary of Benito Fronzi

Peacefully at the FJ Davey Home on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Annunziatina (known as Tita) for 62 years. Loving father of Francesca Krancevich (Dan) and the late Vincenzo Fronzi. Cherished Nonno of Niki, Rocky, Nicolas and Alex and many nieces and nephews in Sault Ste. Marie, Cambridge and Italy. Brother of Franco (Elda) of Sault Ste. Marie and Marta (Teodo) of Italy. Predeceased by his brother Gianni (late Anna), of Sault Ste. Marie and Vanda (late Sergio), Vincenzo and Eugenio (Quartina) of Italy. 

Born in Monte Maggiore Al Metauro, Italy, Benito came to Sault Ste. Marie in 1966 looking for work. He was a hard worker and did tile work in Italy and became a skilled bricklayer in Sault Ste. Marie working with his brothers. Later starting his own business as Fronzi Bros Contracting Ltd with his brother Frank. He loved listening to Italian music and was a master in wine making, prosciutto curing and porchetta BBQ. He was known for his late-night snacking, sitting in front of the TV with a piece of parmesan cheese, mortadella and homemade bread. He took pride in getting the garden ready and planting mainly fava and left the rest to Nonna Maria (mother of Tita). He spent many hours in the garage fixing things, taking machinery apart and putting it back together so things always ran top notch and later in life building birdhouses for fun. He loved sitting with his brother Frank, having an espresso and telling jokes and reminiscing about the old days. 

A private family service will be held with Mary Alice Policicchio officiating.
